The Benefits of Volunteering

Although people volunteer for a range of personal reasons, there are some real benefits to this work. Depending on your age, or the period of life you are in, these benefits might include:

  • Experience that can be included in a CV

  • Valuable contribution to your Record of Achievement

  • Possibility of a reference from someone in our organisation

Our volunteers say they get a real sense of satisfaction from knowing they have helped someone during a particularly stressful time in their lives.

Who can Volunteer?

Volunteering is open to anyone over 14 years of age and we welcome volunteers from all walks of life. So if you have some time to spare please consider joining our team.  Safeguarding is crucial here at Breakthrough, all volunteers are subject to necessary checks, including a full DBS.

"It is more blessed to give than to receive"

We are currently looking for volunteers to work as part of the market garden team on our South Brent Farm.  A love of gardening or horticulture would be desirable however this is not essential.  If you are keen to learn and are willing to get your hands dirty then we would love to hear from you.

In addition to the work on the land, our building also requires a lot of upkeep and we are very grateful to any volunteers who are prepared to give a little of their time to help with routine maintenance and simple DIY tasks.

Would you like to know more about volunteering with us? For an informal chat or more information please phone Amanda on 01626 911456 or email us at info@tborg.org referencing volunteering.
