Welcome Back

Welcome Back

It has been wonderful to welcome our existing students back and meet so many new faces this past week. We know that the summer holiday experience varies hugely for our learners, and that whilst some students relish the return to routine that the new term represents, others find it challenging. We commend everyone for their committed approach.

The start of a new academic year always presents a fantastic opportunity for a reset, and we will be focusing on setting clear goals, getting organised, reflecting on the past, and prioritising well-being with each of our students. You can support this by:

  • Getting organised: Use your student planner to keep track of your workload, assignments, and deadlines.

  • Developing study habits: Think about additional reading and learning you can do to support your studies.

  • Establishing a routine: Create a consistent daily routine to improve concentration and emotional regulation, including a consistent sleep schedule.

  • Organising your space: Declutter and arrange suitable locations for studying that help you focus.

  • Setting goals: Reflect on past terms to identify areas for improvement and set new goals for the upcoming term that feel achievable.

  • Prioritising self-care: Focus on your well-being by engaging in relaxing activities to build resilience and energy for the term ahead.

  • Being optimistic: Start with a positive mindset and acknowledge your strengths and previous successes to maintain motivation.

  • Building relationships: Focus on building positive relationships, which can make the term more enjoyable and supportive.

  • Embracing new experiences: A new term is an opportunity for new beginnings. What can you try this term that is new for you?
