Change & Adapt: British Science Week 2025

British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths that takes place every year in March. STEM is such an integral part of our lives that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to showcase some of the ways that science can be fun, fascinating and – crucially – food for thought.

Our lives are quite rapidly being changed by STEM innovations, from AI learning to medical science, the ways we connect with friends and family and the way that we produce our food. Science touches almost every part of our lives these days, so it’s important for children and young people to take part in STEM learning and see the value that science brings.

Our brilliant science team pulled together a really varied and engaging programme of activities and events, with students participating in a wide range of experiments and challenges. It was wonderful to see students working together on some activities and discussing the impact of others.

Activities included cress germination; growing crystals; making sun catchers, slime and bio-plastic; chemical experiments and the brilliant egg drop challenge!
