This week saw students from both The Lighthouse and Cannamore Farm attend a careers fair in Exeter. It was an interesting morning and great to learn about so many of the different career opportunities available locally. Our students did us proud! They were all talking to a range of different employers, asking questions and always polite. It was great to see them engaging with such a variety of people in what was a busy and crowded space.
So many of the students came back to college buzzing about the different possibilities they had learned about, from career pathways with well-known organisations like the police, the army and the civil service, to much less well-known opportunities for active careers with organisations such as PGL; caring roles with a wide range of ages in the community; and more niche recruitment options with companies such as Situ.
