Some of our students have been taking on the challenge of creating a display or a presentation about different topics that interest them. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to lead on a topic that they feel passionate about, and it’s great for everybody else, staff and students alike, to discover what is important to them. From talks about autism and their journey of acceptance and aspirations, to the English Civil War, it is proving hugely inspiring.

There are many benefits to this kind of independent research and presentation for students. It can help improve their academic performance, and increase their motivation and their confidence. It encourages pride in their passions, and fosters social inclusion as they share this expertise with their peers. The feedback from other students has been overwhelmingly positive.
