With a General Election having been called for the 4th of July, we are very aware that for many of our eligible students this will be their first time voting in a general election. Exciting times!

We have been working hard across all centres to equip our students with accurate information about each party’s promises and how the electoral system works. As part of this we have presented collectively and individually to them about the manifestos of the main parties, enjoyed some interesting political debate and spent time educating them about disinformation and misinformation on social media. We’ll continue to do this in the coming weeks, and we look forward to having a visit at Cannamore from a member of Plymouth City Council who will be explaining the voting process once you enter a polling station.

The Vote For Policies website asks you to choose between different ideas and approaches, and then reveals at the end which party they are from.
